Bourbon Pecan Waffles

How to Make

1 cup
Birch Benders Classic Recipe Pancake and Waffle Mix
2/3 cup
2 tbsps
2 tsps
1 tsp
Ground Cloves
1 tbsp
Vegetable Oil plus more for greasing iron
1/4 cup
Brown Sugar
1/4 cup
Light Corn Syrup
1/4 cup
1/4 cup
3 tbsp
Unsalted Butter
1/2 Cup
Halved, Shelled Pecans
  1. Heat waffle iron to desired settings.
  2. In a heavy-bottomed sauce pan, combine all ingredients for sauce, save pecans, over low heat. Stir occasionally, until just simmering.
  3. In a dry pan, toast pecans until slightly darker in color and evenly toasted.
  4. Add nuts to sauce.
  5. Combine waffle ingredients in a medium bowl, until smooth.
  6. Cook waffles according to your waffle maker’s directions. Remove and serve topped with pecan sauce.
